For the most part I don’t worry about how people look, the color of dye in their hair, tats or not, etc. I care more about _ **what they do** _, and _ **how they act** _. If the kids in the OP were clean cut and wearing business suits and dresses and they did the same things, I’d expect (and hope) **ducati** to do the same things he did that night. Generally, though, there is a loose correlation between what people wear and how they look, with their values and how they act. Generally, and loosely - not all people; it’s a general tendency. Think of standard binomial distribution curves, one for the clean cut people, and one for those who have tats and many piercings and brightly died hair and such. I’m willing to bet that the mean (average) of the behavior for the clean cut people’s distribution curve is better behaved than that for the other group. I have no data, just real-world experience. **ducati** I’m still in your corner. If I was there I’d have had your back. And I still smile and smirk at these Monday Morning QBs typing from the safety of their ivory towers and doling out judgment. But, hey, it’s a free country and we veterans put ourselves on the line for all citizens, including the bright green hair dyes and these Monday Morning QBs. Just behave yourselves and follow social norms or there’ll be the law you’ll have to deal with. And **ducati**. He’s still got it. ---

Also, were the drinks faux-spilled or thrown? Qualitative difference, IMO. ---

Dude…I have such a mental picture of you. Kinda like that old guy in those creepy late 60s Tom and Jerry cartoons, mixed with Ralph Steadman’s illustration of the cop convention in Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. Really? “You’re done” Here’s my question - if they’re adults, and you want them charged as adults for breaking the “rules of society” (note - where do I get a copy?), why didn’t you address them as such? A rule of society is that you treat people respectfully, even if they’re assholes. If you choose to talk to adults as if they are children, then you’re the jerk. And if they’re children to you, then you’re still the jerk. “Kids” do stupid stuff almost constantly - you did, I did, we all did. It’s called being a kid. And while it is proper for adults to model good behavior and try to teach lessons to kids, a physical beating is not an acceptable way to do it. When did you stop beating your kids to teach them lessons? Really, if this seems okay to you, and you don’t feel even a little bit bad in retrospect, seeing as they now have criminal records for saying cocksucker and tossing a drink on you, then, well…I cannot say what I think. Unless calling you a hillbilly moron is acceptable here. Seriously - is this what you want you kids to learn is good? It would have been far, far more awesome if you had stepped aside, leaving the kid/adult to toss his drink into nothingness, and then firing off a good one-liner, sweeping out the door, and leaving him looking like the fool he was. Maybe something like “Nice aim, cocksucker” and going off into the night.
