I just saw video of the completely sick and silly iphone [“baby shaker”](http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/21134540/vp/30370906#30370906) app. I cracked up. So I guess I’m going to hell. But I’m ok with that, and I think people really need to loosen the fuck up already. ---

I would have thought Apple would have demurred on the grounds of copyright infringement, if not poor taste. That _is_ the [Gerber baby](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gerber_Products_Company) used in the app, isn’t it? That’s the first place my brain went. ---

Don’t find it remotely funny or amusing but am not full of outrage. More like annoyed that someone would find this entertaining or worthy of the time (albeit probably not much considering what it does) spent to create it. Shaking a sketch of a baby to give it red xx’s is fun and entertaining? Primitively simulating shaken baby syndrome is a form of amusement? Not in my opinion, although I’m not seething over it. (For the record, if it makes a difference, am a mom of 3 and nana of 1.) ---

'zackly. I have never found myself more likely to be exceptionally sensitive about something the closer I am to it. I’m pretty immune to getting riled up over bad taste across the board, especially if something about it I find genuinely funny. I think this is easy to dismiss, and kind of ridiculous to get upset over, because, while babies are shaken to death and to severe damage all the time, I’ve never gotten the impression that anyone is _for_ it. It happens because people lose control of themselves in frustration. On the other hand, making light of things that people sometimes do want to do or justify, like miscellaneous mayhen on women, for instance, I can maybe understand people being upset about, because it’s not necessarily helpful to give any mentally challenged butthead the idea that it’s ok. But like I said, I don’t think anyone goes around suppressing their innate desire to shake a baby to death and now will feel just a little less likely to suppress it. ---

SO how many times did it crack you up? At least once, maybe twice by the third replay its old. So 99cent for two chuckles and then what happens to the app? cyber litter, useless junk passed on… WIll this lead to shaken ipod syndrome? but oh noes they’ll just sell you an isnug, bulletproofs,and carbonfiber helmuts, so shake away? Really why are they holding back when we know they want to ipiss ishake imasturbate? I got one, trip the ipod wearer? :rolleyes: ---

They all blur together) later at 4:00 a.m. when the baby just would. not. sleep. I remember commenting that I still wouldn’t dare shake my baby, but I could see how it happens. I think the app is silly. and I wouldn’t have known about it if our local news didn’t feel the need to share every pointless bit of trivia with us in the guise of “news”.
