Home. All 4 games refereed, mostly successfully. Clouds and wind kept me in my longsleeves all game, and lived on 2 Pepsi’s and two bags of Lay’s. Will get some real food if I wasn’t scared of moving now that I am sitting down… Take care all. ---

The weather can’t make up its mind. At least it did not precipitate today. I put Ariel back in the pasture after we rode. There is a lot of mud by the gate. So much mud that I got stuck and fell. I was not amused. And I fell in such a goofy way that I thought I wasn’t going to be able to get up. Fortunately nobody witnessed this. My breeches were caked in mud all down one side, along with my jacket. Everything has been laundered now and London broil with blue cheese is for dinner. ---

I’m at 25 different houses/apartments. That’s the in the years since I left the dorm after my first year of college. That I remember, there were a couple from before I was an aware person. Like I don’t remember the time in Arizona during my first year as a baby. I’ve been in the current place for 17-ish years. Yeah, I did a lot of moving during my 20’s and 30’s. ---

It’s pretty gloomy today, so photo session will happen tomorrow. Today is GG’s 1 year birthday. He got THREE big bites of turkey, a new feather toy and some fresh catnip. Howdy Y’all! Slot did occur today along with some productivity. The cee-mint pond is lookin’ better but still needs work. We made the executive decision to N.O.L. at Sonny’s bein’ as we had a coupon for half off the purchase of their signature sammich combos when you buy one at full price. OYKW got the Carolina bbq sammich with tater tots, and I got the Cuban sammich with green beans. We split the tots and beans so we can both say we et healthy cause we had a green veggie. We stopped at the Fud Kitty and bought some collards. I cleaned and tore 'em and now they are in a big bag in the beerator (no beerverages were harmed in the storage of the collard greens) and will be cooked on Moanday. Now we chillax. **Sunny** you _ **must** _ tell the story of red ant beer! **shoe** conga rats on the raffle. Never wanted a tattoo myself, but more power to you. **Die** experimentin’ with beverages, especially adult ones, is a good combo of sloth and productivity. **MOOOOOOM** way to stick it to The Man! **MetalMouse** glad you survived little heathen soccer refereein’. **Jane The Cane** please give GG birthday skritches from his Unca swampy. ---

I’m with ya on the weather **taters**. I’ve put off planting herbs and flowers because of calls for frost. In. The. Middle. of. April!!! Yay **shoe** for the new ink. I’d love to see pics when you get the tat. Happy birthday GG! Got all of the Sunday chores done, prepped for the heathen meetup tomorrow, made it to the post office in time to use the window (the kiosk doesn’t offer media rate, which is what I needed and is about a third to a fourth of the price) and even had a nice visit with my neighbor three doors down when I walked Nelson (Nelson has an affinity for Matt, as do most of the dogs on our end of the complex. He drives truck and isn’t allowed to take one on the road, so he just gives treats and skritches to the neighbor pooches). Supper was a bowl of some very good black bean soup that’s been in the crock all day, some greens and a couple of mini muffins that weren’t deemed cosmetically pretty enough to take tomorrow. Now for studio play. 🙂 ---

I’m on my 21st address in 50 years (including college, because I went out of state). Dad was in the Army when I was born — which is how my little brother was born in Germany — and then at one point we lived in England for a couple of years when both parents worked for the gov’t. Since moving out on my own in 1994, I’m only on my 10th address. I usually get itchy to move every 2-3 years, but tomorrow will mark 8 years in my current rental; a record by 4 years. The house is nice enough and the location can’t be beat, but mostly I’ve stayed here for so long because of the dog: the back yard is large and fenced, and at this point I see no reason to move her to a new place when she likely only has a couple of years left (she’ll be 14 in July). I’ve grown to hate the gravel driveway, the tiny closets, and the fact that the washer and dryer are in an unconnected addition (so I have to go outside to do laundry), and I’m starting to want a slightly larger place in general, but I don’t plan to move again until my girl is gone. ---

If I count from birth thru assorted barrack and TDY rooms as well as apartments and houses, I’d be at 29. But places with mortgages that had my name on them - it’s 8 (9 if you count cosigning my daughter’s mortgage.) Plus the two boats we lived aboard - one of them had a loan. We’ve been here since 2004, and we intend for this to be it for us. It’s officially the longest I’ve ever been at one address. Don’t know why. 🤔 **Wifey** has gone off to her son’s house for his birthday party, leaving me her to watch after the dogs. As I’ve mentioned before, Vinnie is getting senile and has to wear a diaper in the house all the time now, and Gibbs has apparently decided that if Vinnie gets to pee in the house, he does too. So he’s also in a diaper, which greatly offends his dignity. Vinnie’s 15 now and we know the current situation won’t last too much longer, but it is tiring. Gibbs won’t last too much longer either, unfortunately. He has a bad heart ‘murmur’ and a ‘collapsing trachea’ which will prolly kill him in the next few years. It’s heartbreaking when he starts wheezing and coughing. 😭 I told you I lost my phone. Well, **Wifey** had insurance on it and they sent me a new one. Lat night I was fiddling with the new one, setting things up and I found a screen telling me about all the devices signed in on my account. Well, lo and behold there was my old phone! In Washogal Washington! 😮 I clicked on it and it asked me if I wanted to ‘wipe’ that phone. I did. So whoever has it now has nothing any more. Serves 'em right. I think I’ve lived in 16 places since leaving my folks’ house. Now 17. We live in the house we’re moving out of for 33 years. The house we’re moving into may well be where I die. Cheerful, innit? Well, I should get busy. ---

Like a lot of you I moved a lot while younger (12-14 depending how you’re counting), but I bought my current house in 1997, have been here (after a 3-year sojourn to Abu Dhabi) since 2003 and am not planning to go anywhere while I still have my health and senses about me. Managed to get some presentable clothes on and dine at Cracker Barrel, so tomorrow can be a ‘in-house’ day for recuperation. Guess all that gym work has done some good, I feel much better than I used to when I was only doing 2-3 games. Will see Moanday if it helped my weight any. **Bumba** , glad you got your old phone taken off-line before some major bills got run up on it. And best wishes for Vinnie and Gibbs. **Oopsie** , no greater love than a person for their dog… **swampy** , I do have fun with the kids and get some teaching in whiel I’m at it (“no, you can’t DO THAT”), but these were all boys teams and they go 200MPH all the time while I’m limited to maybe 60MPH, so keeping myself in a good position to spot fouls and call the game right can be a challenge…but one I’ll keep doing long as I am able to do it well. **Jane the Cane** ( **swampy** finally convinced me), only problem now is GG will probably think everyday is her birthday… **Wet one** , just glad you’re OK. Falling, even in mud, can do damage if it’s not expected. OK, washed all my sweatshirts and sweatpants (I really do wish it would warm up some so I can retire them…) and need to get them out of the dryer in about 15 minutes or so. Last load (sheets and towels) will be sometime tomorrow. All y’all take care. ---

In the time after college graduation, but before when he and I started dating, hubby lived in a shared house with several other guys. This house featured adventures such as the “samurai sword” incident, the “not a pet rat” incident, and the “through the ceiling” incident. In this case, we’re discussing the red ant beer. The house had decided to eke out some rent money by renting out the basement to a friend. This was an unfinished basement. Technically, it was actually a crawl space - a dirt crawl space to be precise. Someone hollowed out a portion of the center, and the lucky tenant slept there. New guy and Hubby and one other guy decided to home brew some beer. Wouldn’t be cool, they thought, if they had a larger tank? So, they found an old water heater tank that someone was throwing out and hauled it back to the house. Not rusty at all 🙄 Into the basement it goes, and the brewing begins. In the course of time the beer is ready, the house has a party to celebrate the new beer. Come the day, someone was indeed enjoying the beer. There’s a big ol’ conga line of red ants parading back and forth from the water tank. Despite the fact that tank should have been sealed and sterile, and that the ants were a somewhat worrying sign, folks lined up to try the beer. It was not good. It was very bad, not good, terrible, horrible beer. They drank it anyway, because young and stupid. All these years later, they will still tell me all about how bad it was. They did learn the importance of sealing and sterilizing the home brew equipment. ---

**bumba** , the company that I irk for likely replaced your phone. 🙂 We began adding that feature when they are reflashed in the past few months. It’s a really good thing if you have any account info on it. Counting my two childhood homes, I’ve lived in 19 places in my 59 years and change. I lived in the house where Dad still calls home from the age of 5 until I was 18. The only places that even come close are the house that I shared with a former love (9 years) and my last apartment (12 years). So’s I did a lot of moving around in my young adulthood. ---

I was craving steak au poivre, but there was no steak to be had, nor shallots, nor cream, so I made scallops au poivre (sorta) over spaghetini using some diced onion and half & half and Cognac. It was pretty good, actually; scallops au poiverino. ---

**FairyCharMom** , I have _The Ten Commandments_ on as well. Whatever you can say about Cecil B. DeMille, he knew how to make a good movie. Charlton Hestion, in his own autobiography, compared him to Steven Spielberg. He acknowledged he’d never worked with the latter, but said “:They both have their fingers on the pulse of what Americans will go to see in a picture.” He also spoke of an incident on the set of a movie he was in, The War Lord, in 1966. It happened on set in Northern California. A teenage kid kept sneaking into the open, outdoor set, and kept getting thrown out. Finally he was allowed to stay, because he wasn’t bothering anyone. Yep, it was Spielberg. There were some good lines though, in TTC thought. There was real bitterness in Yvonne de Carlo’s voice when she said “You lost him when he went to seek his god. I lost him when he found him” And the scene of the death of the firstborn is still eery. Woof, I pushed my button about the movie didn’t I? Made pizza for supper tonight. It’s all veggie because I give up meat for Lent, but now it’s not too long to sausage and pepperoni. I. been trying to cound up how many places I’ve lived but keep losing track.
