The more I think about this, the more I wonder if it’s some kind of frame-up job. Men like Strauss-Kahn, exceptionally wealthy and powerful men at the uppermost stratum of society, especially ones who are French and hence come from a culture that accepts that these alpha male types will have large numbers of women (as opposed to America, where it still happens but people act surprised) rarely need to _force_ a woman to give them oral or any other kind of sex. It doesn’t make sense. These kind of guys always have scores of willing women at their disposal, both paid and “volunteers”. And if, indeed, he is the kind of guy who _likes_ power and domination, well…lots of women will play those games with him willingly. I’m suspicious of the idea that this guy would force himself on a woman, thinking he could get away with it. Naturally, it’s still completely possible, but…I’m still suspicious. ---

Rapists get off on FORCING someone to have sex. Even if plenty of willing sex partners are available, a rapist will enjoy raping someone more. Men in power are used to being able to get away with shit that most people would get caught at. That is, it’s no surprise that a person in power is caught raping someone. The only surprise is that it doesn’t get covered up. ---

Given that most rapists get away with it, given that the more powerful the rapist is the more likely he is to get away with it…the only surprising thing is that she was brave enough to press charges. Guys like him hire high priced lawyers who shred women like her. He knows it. She knows it. That’s the way the world goes. A guy who doesn’t ‘have’ to rape is the one who most wants to, because for him, consent is boring.
