I used to hate eggnog, but now I love it. I mean, it’s fucking nog… It was only a matter of time. So, the Hood brand eggnog had 180 calories. Not so bad… except that was one serving, and the 10 oz container had 4 servings… :smack: It was also a grand total of 104% daily satured fat allotment. Oh well. It was delicious. ---

I dunno about the above link, but I’d heard nog came from a generic term for alcohol. I suppose it would fit in with the above etymology, though. But, yeah, egg nog, though delicious, will kill you. :eek: ---

If it ain’t the calories, it’s the cholesterol. If it ain’t the cholesterol, it’s the sugar. If it ain’t the sugar, it’s the alcohol. If it ain’t the alcohol, it’s the salmonella (possible if you make your own and don’t cook it hot enough or at all). Egg nog has probably killed as many people as cigarettes. It ought to have been banned decades ago except it _just tastes too friggn yummy_. ---

Nog is the produce of Naugahyde Cows, who are regularly milked to produce this tasty, but lethal holiday treat. When they are too old to be produce nog, their hides are harvested for furniture covering. ---

Speaking of egg nog, has anyone tried Edy’s new Egg Nog Ice Cream flavor? I saw it in the store today and I really wanted to try it, but it only comes in that huge container so if it’s really bad I’d rather not waste the money. ---

I don’t love egg nog (although I have an unfortunate weakness for hot buttered rum), but we just got an exciting and yummy new “spicy egg nog” flavored coffee in my office that looks to be my afternoon treat of choice for the next month. ---
