A 7-10 split would be a lot easier to pick up in that game, assuming you knocked the first 8 pins down with the first toss. Then again, it only counts as a spare if you get them all in the first two tosses; if it takes you 3 throws then you get 10 pins counted but I don’t know if that counts as “picking it up”. (I’m only personally familiar with American ten-pin bowling.) ---

Now, I’m as sick of the Beatles as most Boomers, but I started watching the Peter Jackson Beatles “documentary” (really just editing together 60 hours of “fly on the wall” footage)… … and I got bored of that after ten minutes. BUT I was blown away by their musical abilities; just their jamming and trying riffs or snippets of half-written songs… amazing. And better than anything I’ve heard on the radio lately. . No, it’s the Splenda-coated, execrable “Lady”. I didn’t even make it to the first “Layyyy-ayy-deee…” and it’s still stuck in my head. Even the lyrics, and they’re straight out of middle school: _“Lady, when you’re with me I’m smiling…”_ Ooh, that’ll win her heart, Denny… ---

I like the Beatles. I’m not sure if I’d call myself a fan, but I like them. My favorite song of theirs is Maxwell’s Silver Hammer if that tells you anything. ---
