Are you aware of, or can you fathom any, that make some degree of sense to you? **magellan01** is correct, I want to know if there is any reason to oppose the Public Option that you know of besides the two (actually one, because what you listed are two parts of the same argument) you listed. Can you think of ANY reason that a rational person might disagree with the public option? Note, when I ask this I do not mean a reason you agree with, I mean a reason where you can understand the objection. There are many political stances I disagree with but I can understand the reason why those I disagree with hold those opinions. Take abortion for example. I am pretty much pro-choice\* but I can understand the pro-life side. It does not mean I agree with it, but I do understand why they think they way they do. If you can’t, well then you are just as ignorant of those you are bitching about. If you cannot understand the oppositions objections to a particular political stance then the only option left is to make wild ass accusations as your preferred method of dealing with those who disagree with you instead of having a rational argument. ::: rereads OP ::: Oh, wait, that is what you are doing. Slee \*Note, I bring this up as it is a good example of an issue where there is a deep divide between the two opposing sides. I don’t want this to turn into yet another abortion debate. ---

Some of the people I most respect on this board are Liberal or Conservatives (well…as ‘Conservative’ as this board gets anyway). I respect them because they are interesting, not because of their political position, one way or the other. That brings me back to you. You, I don’t respect. I don’t hate you, but I don’t respect you. The emotion that comes closest is that I despise you. Not because you are a Liberal (I’m sure many of the boards more intelligent Liberals cringe at the fact that you are nominally on their ‘side’), but because you are willfully ignorant on the subjects you have thus far chosen to weigh in on. That’s fine…ignorance is what this board is all about fighting after all. But you don’t WANT to be educated…you think (if I can use this word without butchering it too much wrt yourself) you know what you are talking about, and you are unwilling to listen to any other opinion than your own, even when your position is demonstrably idiotic. You are like a Truther, like a CTer, like a Creationist or a AGW denier…you know what you know, and you just parrot your drivel into every thread you are in without any intention of engaging in any sort of debate at all. You simply want to drop your steaming load and then kick back while others of the faithful sing kumbya to you, or you dismiss anyone who disagrees with your ‘wisdom’ spewed from where the sun don’t shine.
