It’s been going on for too long, and I can’t take it anymore. -First off there’s that stupid song that you can never get out of your head. -The way they make the lips move doesn’t even look real. It looks more like he’s about to sneeze. -The lips don’t even move in sync, so the whole thing looks like a goddamn Godzilla movie. -“Wiiilllllbuuuurrrr!” doesn’t sound like a neigh. -If Ed’s so smart why does he hang around with that loser Wilbur anyway. I’m glad I got that off my chest. ---

I hate Ed, too. He betrayed the trust of the American people. We MUST hold these people to higher standards, or what will become of us? It was bad enough, taking bribes in exchange for defense contracts, but I personally gave up on him when I found out he’d been filing false income tax returns, too. It just seemed so tacky, so–common. We give him all this authority, all this trust, and how does he repay us? By behaving exactly like my wife’s cousin, the one with the asphalt paving business. Tacky, tacky, tacky. Well, at least he had the decency to quit before he was fired. I was surprised, though, to find him running an Internet bulletin board. I suppose it’s a front for some right-wing white supremacist organization. I don’t think it’s fair to blame it all on President Reagan. How was he supposed to know? When he nominated Ed for Attorney General, you’d think somebody would have done a background check. Obviously the estimable Mr. Meece was expert at pulling the wool over people’s eyes. And what’s his problem with David Lee Roth anyway? They invite the poor guy bac into the band just to kick him out a week later. Ed should know that Van Halen hasn’t had a good album since. Goddamn it Ed! ---

Um… Ed Burns can’t really act all that well… but I don’t really hate him. _Brothers McMullen_ was a good first film. Lessee… Ed McMahon seemed to be a talentless sack of crap, but too bland to hate. Or there’s Ed Sullivan, but I’m really to young to have a firm impression of him. I happen to think that Ed Norton is a pretty good actor and seems to be a decent fellow. There was that little Eddie Munster, but I try not to hate fictional characters, except in the general way in which you are supposed to hate the bad guys. I have an Uncle Ed, but he never did anything terrible, as far as I know. Eddie Murphy used to really crack me up, back in the _Delirious_ days. Don’t hate him. Eddie Fisher… don’t even know who that is really. There was that Ed Rooney guy in _Ferris Bueller_, but again, fictional. There were a couple of King Edwards as I recall, but I don’t know anything about them. I’m sure they did a few evil things, as kings are wont to do, but I really have nothing specific to go on. Eddie Murray played for the Orioles for a while. While I’ve never really liked the Orioles, I can’t say that I hate them, or any particular player in their organization. In fact, I admire Cal Ripken, Jr. Ed… Ed… Ed… Dammit! I cannot think of a single Ed that I hate. Never mind. ---
