Okay…we had this thread before, but it bears repeating: I hate candy corn. It reminds me of rotten teeth. I hate circus peanuts. I hate those wax paper orange and black taffy things. I hate any candy that gets misshapen by virtue of its mushiness. I used to love a popcorn ball, but I don’t think I’d have the nerve to eat one unless I knew the cook. ---

Other than cockroaches, candy corn and circus peanuts are the only things that will survive a nuclear holocaust. ---

I remember adults that gave out horehound candy. It was a light blue or white and tasted almost like Vicks Vapor Rub. I guess when you compare the candy corn to that and the others mentioned, the candy corn wasn’t too bad. Now if I could have gotten a box of Ludens Childern’s Cherry Cough Drops, I would have been thrilled. ---

Horehound is used to make coughdrops isn’t it? That would explain the taste. I don’t care about candy corns, but death to circus peanuts. Anyone giving those out deserves to have their house egged. That’s the devil’s candy. And seeing as I OD’d on those peanut butter kiss thingies when I was in the 4th grade, it’ll be a cold day in Hell before I ever eat one again.
