Is it a new toilet? I have a toilet that likes to plug sometimes after depositing vigorously into it, but that’s because the wax plug is broken and needs replacing.
No they’re not new toilets, I suspect they came with the house when it was built 15-20 years ago, and as alluded to earlier in this sentence; it’s all the toilets in the house with this problem. That plus the plumbers comment makes me think they’re just poor quality toilets. It was all I could do to not type in ‘crappy toilets’ there.
Thanks for the link Morgenstern; I’ll check it out.
Now you tell us :smack:
When we renovated our bathroom, the first thing we did was remove the standard toilet that came with the new house.
I have to admit, it was odd going to Home Depot and pricing toilets.
Surprisingly (then again, never shopped for one before) they are not all that expensive. Got an “adult” size one that is not designed for a 5’1" person who weighs 86 pounds.
Stayed in a nice hotel recently that had one of those fancy bidet toilet seats with warm water that shoots up there and cleans you up, then a bit of warm air to dry you off…felt like I was in a very bizarre car wash, but might just look into buying one of those someday. Better than wasting money on toilet paper, although you probably want to have some nearby, just in case…
a friend of mine just installed a Kohler toilet on the advice of his plumber and it was a thing of flushing beauty. In today’s low-flush environment it convinced me that engineering is everything.
Best $100 I’ve ever spent. I’ve got them on all the toilets in the house.
