I’m okay with Subway once in a while (hell, there’s one right across the street, and I friggin’ work at a locally-renowned pizza joint) but I like a “weird” sandwich according to my personal preferences & am grateful to be able to order precisely what my weirdo self wants. Turkey with just spinach & onion, if you must know. Sometimes cold, sometimes toasted with cheese. If cold, mayo. If hot, the sweet onion sauce. I think I tried the garlic aioli and IIRC was not unhappy with it. Thanks, O.P. for the inspiration! I’ll throw the one by my work a lil’ bizness this weekend. ---

@kaylasdad99 I also hate all the choices and the need to specify ingredients. The last time I went to Subway some months ago I went to meet some friends and I was bouncing all over the place in a state of minor confusion. One of my friends looked at me in amazement and commented, “How the hell do you survive in a foreign country?” ---

At bottom right, you can see a web address ending in “.de” so my theory is that, like so many things German, it is involved in some bizarre kinky shit. ---

I vaguely remember reading someplace that this was tied to their goal of adding drive-thru locations. Their original business model of letting the customer choose each ingredient doesn’t work well for a drive-thru. And you mentioned not wanting to go to Chipotle because they use the same model. I think you’ll also want to avoid Mod Pizza because they do the same thing but for small personal pizzas. ---
