# I hate the trend of cars using the horn to indicate remote lock/unlock

The car honking has always been the norm as cars had horns that could be used for this purpose and didn’t need additional speakers to make a beep. The (quieter) beeping is a lot newer.  
Here’s a complaint from 15 years ago.
