…it’s really freakin’ hot here. I am a card-carrying member of the SDMB Snow Haters Club. So I whined all winter about how freakin’ cold it was. Then we had about three days of really perfect weather, and now, it’s hot. Hot & humid. I really hate humid. And my central air isn’t doing jack diddly to cool anything off. I don’t know why. I’m sweaty. Sometimes, there’s good reason to be sweaty. But right now, I’m sweaty just because it’s hot, and that is not fun. Bleah. Whine, whine, whine. (I put this whine here because although I’m hot & miserable, it’s just not strong enough for the Pit.) ---

It’s icky sticky hot here. From the car to the apartment, about 15 seconds of traveling activity, yielded a copious amount of stinky sweat on the back. ---

\ Yucky. It was about 100 degrees today, plus humidity. PLUS, I was downtown, so I got that nice reflecting effect off the buildings, which raises the temperature up a good amount. And finally, we had a nice breeze blowing through the streets, which would have cooled me down had it not been skin-melting hot. Blech. I wanted summer to come, but I didn’t want it to have its way with America. ---

Well Persephone, if it helps you any, those of us on the west side of the country are sending some cccccold weather your way. Yesterday we had rain and very cold weather. About 15 minutes north of me and in the mountains they got a few inches of snow. Just this morning I was bitching about the fact it was 62º inside my house – yep, it got that cold last night and will be almost as cold tonight. So hopefully you can complain about cold weather tomorrow. 😉 ---

Hot, you’re complaining about HEAT?! We’re burning up down here. Literally. Brush fires and muck fires, mostly from lightning strikes (we’ve gotten some rain, but ironically, lightning strike starts another fire up), but also a few cases of suspected arson. At least the one near Disney is pretty much under control, but I have to drive to and from work past four fires in progress near the airport. Try running around in 95 degree heat, godknowswhat the humidity is (at least 90%, has to be), a hot hazy breeze (no cooling yummy breeze here, just stinky) and smoke. My clothes smell like a campfire. It’s to the point where I have a bottle of extra-strength Febreeze in the car and in the house so I don’t smell like I just stepped out of a chapter of “Fahrenheit 451”. 😕 What would “Fahrenheit 451” be in Celsius? My brain is too fried to think. ---

Persephone, the important question is “how long were you without power?” I think my family watched the lights go out and then got in the pool until they turned on again. First my ISP goes crazy, then the power goes out. Good thing you can read dice by candlelight. (I was gaming. Yes, we are that addicted. What can I say, those lizards had to die. Plus I just got two handed fighting, and my shiny new Kriss swords, the game must go on!) ---

well I never never never did a thing about the weather cause the weather never ever did a thing for me. although when it gets hot I take 2 or 3 showers a day. ---

You are perfectly welcome to join me, screech-owl and FairyChatMom for some horrible Florida heat, then maybe when you get home, it will feel more bearable to you. 😃 Also, another note on the AC thing, make sure that your compressor is kicking on with the thermostat. The fan can run all day without the compressor and it won’t do anything for you. ---

**Medea:** We didn’t lose power. As it turns out, the AC just tripped a fuse. No biggie. It’s working now. But it’s still freakin’ hot. And yes, I do need to change the filters, **FCM.** Just gotta remember which ones to get. Oy. I know Florida heat, too. Whoooooooo buddy. 100 in Florida and 100 in Michigan are indeed two different things. Yikes. **Snooooooopy:** Yep. Oinkety-oink oink! 😃 ---

Yup, it’s summer storm season. It took me 75 minutes to drive 10 miles in a complete gully-washer, replete with lots o’ lightning and, as I find out in the middle of max 10 mph traffic, tornado warnings for several counties, mine included (one tornado may have touched down on the NASA landing site in Brevard County). Ah, ozone. At least it doesn’t smell like smoke right now. ---
