I absolutely refused to buy from facebook because of things I heard and was really happy when he forgot his password and then the dementia took over and he forgot about facebook too. Even after that, he still wanted his snake oil and would come up with important offers just too good to miss in his memory care unit. I understand staff did their best to stop this from happening and I probably spent thousands of his money on colored water. Of course I’d always run them by his doctors who would make sure I wasn’t giving him anything that would actively hurt him, but omg, the hatred I have for those scammers after over five years is still white hot. (He was a grown ass adult who was asking me to spend HIS money for things it was too complicated for him to get. He was the man who raised my anti-vax hubs, he was buying it when it was made of **[Titanoboa](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Titanoboa)** oil, this was nothing new and it wasn’t my place to refuse.) ---

Well - Walked to a pleasant dinner & walked back. Now a bit more than an hour post-sunset it’s definitely cool out, now 74/23 on the way down to 58/15 overnight, then back up to 79/26 tomorrow with sunny skies. A bit breezy too; glad I had long pants and long sleeves. **Flyboy** - I love those slamming downpours. Now that I’m not irking any more. **JtC** there’s no punishment good / bad enough for scammers. And I’m rather inventive that way. ---

Howdy Y’all! Home (well, been home for a while) from men’s night over to the church house. We had a smaller than usual group tonight, but still it was fun. As usual, we solved all the world’s problems, and, as usual, nobody will listen to us. We left around seven-fifteen and it was already almost dark. I am sure this has been true for a couple of weeks, but we don’t go out very much at night so I had not noticed until tonight. **shoe** yay for the DL! **GodBod** yay for the N.O.L. visit with mom and sis! **shades** hope the money is refunded to your account soonest. **VanGo** hope you got the delivery figured out. Evening all. Soccer has been practiced, all 12 boys were there for once and we had some fun and a good workout. Monday evenings for dinner I scatter my business among the hamburger joints and stopped at Krystals for a couple of double sliders (if you live in the North, think White Castle with mustard instead of ketchup). A nice change of pace and I’m comfortably full. I always felt so dirty ordering that stuff for him because that was just enabling the scammers, but if I didn’t do it, FIL would find someone else who would do it for more money. I used a pre-paid VISA card and a UPS store mailbox to avoid giving out any personal info. The visa card usually had a few bucks on it until he wanted something at which time I would go to the store and put more cash on his card. After he died, I forgot about the three bucks and change on the card until one of those scammers tried to take it. I fought over those three bucks tooth and nail and after I got them back, I gave thirty bucks to the local pet rescue group. ---

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. _YAWN_ 'Tis 44 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 67 and N.O.S. for the day. The big thrill of the day is laundry. I am so excitated! Of course the usual sloth and general overall uselessness that is our wont is on the schedule. Sup shall be beastloaf, cabbage, mac 'n cheese, and baby lima beans. There may or may not be cornbread. **Wheelie** glad you survived the faceplant. Also glad for the inventory gig and yay for not fallin’ for the scammer. **CupCakes** there are Priests who make bein’ an interim their vocation, as well. They are usually older Priests, who, like you, I suspect are cruisin’ toward retirement. **shoe** glad you had some good eats and found your way back to the dispensary. Better luck sleeping last night - I woke a few times but was able to drop off. It was a bit after 6 when I decided to get up. Yay for being rested!! Before Tobias gets here (in about 2 hours) I need to haul all the laundry downstairs and get a fire started in the basement. I’m sure it’s chilly down there since we didn’t even hit 60° yesterday. Luckily, it warms quickly once the fire goes beyond kindling. **FCD** ’s car should be ready this afternoon. His Caddy is one of those stoopit vehicles that has different tires front and back, and Paul only had the front tires in stock, so he’ll be getting the back ones today. My car, like any normal vehicle, uses 4 matching tires. Not sure what to pull out of the freezer for supper - maybe we’ll just have the leftover poke roast. What can I do with it to make it more interesting than warmed-over poke? Must ponder. Meanwhile, my day begins. Happy Tuesday!! ---

Afternoon, mumpers! It’s a toasty 12c/53f with a predicted high of 13c/55f and mostly cloudy. Weather app does not think much of this and says “It’s probably a good day to stay the fuck in bed. Today will probably fucking suck.” I’m not so sure, it’s not looking that bad outside, in fact it’s quite sunny at the moment. **shady** I’ve never bought anything from FB marketplace, and I’ve seen so many ridiculous ads for things like keto gummies, or some socks that mysteriously make you lose 50lbs in weight overnight. Sadly FB and Instagram are full of people peddling this nonsense, and of course they are doing their best to get you to buy a subscription to their snake oil shop, or add a bargain to your order that ends up costing you an arm and a leg. **nellie** in my younger days, I lived in 4" heels without any bother although I’m terrible in icy conditions no matter what’s on my feet! Good morning. It’s 48F, dark and cloudy outside. The expected high is 63F and we’ll have partly cloudy to mostly cloudy skies all day long. Yesterday was a frog strangler. I managed to avoid rainfall during my morning commute, but it started pouring shortly after arriving at the office. Yesterday’s afternoon commute was very bad due the amount of rain falling. There was standing water on the road, and the rain was coming down so hard and fast that it was unsafe to travel at regular freeway speed. What made it even more unsafe were the asshats who were driving in that mess without headlights. Between the pouring rain and the road spray kicked up by all the vehicles, including the semis, visibility was very bad. Anyway, I made it home, plugged in my laptop, and worked for a bit longer. Something that I anticipated being a real PITA went very smoothly yesterday, so I am grateful that it worked out for me. **wheelz** , I am sorry for your underemployment woes and the faceplant. I am glad things are looking up a little and very happy the homeowners came out to help you. A lot of people wouldn’t, which is just sad. Nothing on the agenda today but work. I am debating whether I’ll travel to the Olympia office tomorrow or just work from home. I get more done at home, and I have much to take care of before I leave next week. After work, I’ll catch up on my trash TV. I was too tired to stay up Sunday night, so I missed all of the trash TV. I was going to watch it on demand, but that channel has now decided to make you wait a few days before you can watch it on demand. More and more, I’m leaning toward cutting the cable. Just sick of it all. The same stuff happens with streaming, I’m sure, but I have been watching too much TV and not doing enough reading. There are days, though, where I’m just fried, and I just want to watch a good movie or series and veg. It’s all annoying, I guess. My teeny tiny carry-on suitcases arrived yesterday so I practiced packing one with my stuff for the trip (minus an extra pair of shoes and make-up. To my utter surprise, I managed to fit everything in there with the packing cubes with a little room to spare. This makes me happy. It would be really nice if I could get all my husband’s stuff, plus his CPAP in his carry-on, but that won’t work. So we’ll each have a carry-on and an under seat bag, which counts as a personal item. I like to pack a book or Kindle and have snacks while I’m flying. Plus I buy a bottle of water (after going through security) to drink on the plane. Welp, need to finish loading the dishwasher. Have a good day! ---

Mornin’ all. A bit more than an hour post-dawn. I’ve been up about 2 hours. When I got up it was 61/16, now 62/17 and should top out at 78/25. Just a few clouds over the water and otherwise bright shiny clear. Watched the darkness become late twilight from the balcony while caffinatin’, then retreated indoors having gotten too cold to enjoy it. Today’s fashion _ensemble_ happened to include my warmest tracksuit; had it been one of the summer ones I’d have not lasted 5 minutes out there. No plans here. Her Ladyship has a hair appointment early afternoon and I may beach; gotta check my UV dosage first. **Shoe** Agree that walleye is great. And ought to be a common fish at restaurants in your part of the USA. Try to find it not breaded-and-deepfried to really enjoy the fish, not just the breading and grease. **Swampy** sounds like an excellent day. I laundritated yesterday, so I got one on ya’. Yowza! That _is_ out there in the middle. That’s farther afield from my homes in greater St. Louis than I ever ventured. But I sure know the kind of place it is, both from flying over it and from visiting many of its small-town brethren farther east. Very pretty, in the gently rolling rural way but waay out in the sticks. When Chilicothe is the nearby “big city”, you’re on a farm fer sure. The good news is very few local distractions to interfere with communing with family. The bad news is … the same. Dress warm. Expect trumply rednecks. ---

Morning all. Woke a bit grumpy, for some reason during the past week I can’t get the song **Copacabana** by Barry Manilow out of my head, and I woke with " 🎶 Music and Passion were always the fashion… 🎶" and I don’t even _like_ the damn song. Do not know why my brain has fixated on it, but I want it out, and I want it out **NOW**. And if I’ve now given you an earworm, I’m not the least bit sorry (told you I was grumpy)… 50F heading for the mid-60’s today, no rain in sight. Not much on the agenda, some cycling at the gym and soccer practice for the littles, with maybe some housework scattered into the mix. In my usual cold-weather gear (sweatpants and sweatshirt) and the space heater is on, so I’m relatively comfortable. Watching the Mississippi River ‘steaming’ as it gets warmer in Iowa, a pretty morning view from Virtual Railfan. **JtC** , good on ya for fighting the scammers for the last dollar and then doing something nice. **Shoe** , of the three ‘casual’ steakhouses near me, Texas Roadhouse is probably the best value for money, with Longhorn a close second and Outback way back in third and no longer getting my business. And try to set up a plan, like I do with 5 Guys, only visit once a month or so, make it something of a special trip (Of course, after your dispensary visit, you may have already had a special trip…) **FCM** and **Swampy** mentioning the laundry has me thinking if I need to take the ‘light’ comforter to the dry cleaners and break out the ‘heavy’ one for the next 5 months or so. Will decide later today,. **boo fae** , hope the meetings are survivable and sneding good thoughts to minion and her brother. **Taters** , glad you made it through the downpour, I always hated it when I was driving a lot when semis would pass me and I’d be blind for that second or two it took for the wipers to clear the windshield. And idiot drivers are multiplied in wet weather, IMHO. OK, need to consider the morning repast and be about the day. Take care all.
