I really liked the songs over the closing credits of Blackadder II, sung in medieval ballad style. The words can be quite tricky to make out, but they’re all in the script book. Not much to add except that Blackadder rocks, and Good-byee was truly painful. Blackadder Back and Forth was mediocre, but it had its moments. ---

You may be interested to know that in real life Baldrick (Tony Robinson) is a very senior Labour Party official. It is a bit odd. ---

One of my favorite lines is actually one of Lord Melchett’s: “We are but private parts of the gods–they play with us for their sport!” Do you think that one of the reasons that General Melchett is so fond of saying “Baaaaaa” is because his ancestor had such an affinity for sheep? Perhaps there’s even some sheep DNA in there…hmmmmm… I have heard that the original pilot for the first season had Rowan playing Edmund much closer to the clever rascal of the later series, but for whatever reason, they decided to change that later. I think that the first series would have many more fans had they left that alone. However, there are things to like about the original Edmund as well…“Dear Lord, who made the birds and the bees… and the snails, presumably, erm, please help me, a little animal too, in my despair. I have been a sinner, but now I intend to follow the path of the saints: particularly the very religious ones.” The more sarcastic Edmund could not have delivered that line. ---
