Since I’m on Social Security Disability, and have a hard time driving, It hasn’t been easy to find a female… which I understand from a female’s point of view. But I met this one girl on OkCupid that’s amazing and looks past all my “faults”, (for now). It’s not really being called a “date”, but I figure since it’s just her and I, and I’m paying… I can call it a date. Some of you know how terrible I am with women from some of the threads that I have started. But I think I’m learning, (thanks to the Straight Dopers who got pissed off at me in some of those threads – at least I can admit when I’m wrong). The first time I talked to her on the phone, I admit, I was WAY too excited to be talking to someone like her. But the next time we talked on the phone, I played it cool. She wants me to call her after work, which is great because she’s younger, (24 years old, and I’m 32 years old), and from my experience, women that age would rather text than talk on the tele. We have so much in common. She’s been through some tough times too, so she’s sympathetic to my situation. She LOVES the movie The Truman Show, and so do I! She’s an atheist! She has the same political beliefs as me. I’m a little worried that I’m shorter than her, and I’m losing hair, (which you can’t see on my OkCupid profile pics). But if it turns out we can only be friends… I’m not only ready for that, I’m still excited! And who knows, maybe I just want to be friends too. We would have to hang out more. I just feel so happy that a female’s giving me the time-of-day! Any comments or advice? ---

There are advantages to texting… you get to think about what you want to say, reply at any time. But being a dyslexic fool, I HATE it. I would much rather talk on the phone. ---
