If I remember correctly from a book of old wives medicine\*, it is believed that if you run a red thread through a puncture wound it won’t go septic (because ‘magic’). I suspect the OP is using the term ‘pressed by thread’ to refere to this practice. \*Ozark Magic and Folklore by Vance Randolph. And in looking that up I found a cool blog about Ozark Folklore! There goes the rest of my afternoon. ---
