I don’t mind the Doodlebops. But the most disturbing thing about them is in the first season episodes (the ones without Audio Murphy, the Poochie-like record producer) where Jazzmin, their rhyme-speaking black friend, does not snap her fingers to disappear as in later seasons, but rather emerges and disappears behind the Doodlebops’s bookcase, making it appear (at least to me) that she is their slave, being held in their house against her will to do their dirty work. The fact she is black only makes it worse. ---

Other than that, your post makes me see the Doodlebops in a whole new perspective. ---

When I was babysitting my wee niece she would tug on my sleeve and say “I need to watch Max and Wooby now”. Probably just enjoys watching some girl boss people around. But she sounds so cute saying “Wooby” ---

I was going to come to the defense of The Backyardigans which the wife, the 18 month-old daughter, and I LOVE — but I see that other right-minded people got here first. So, since this _has_ become a free-for-all, I’ll throw in a good word for Pocoyo. Another computer animated show (created in Spain) that is narrated (in the English version) by Stephen Fry and is insanely cute. ---
