Sorry, I disappeared! hlanelee, yes I was hoping you’d throw some pictures of these adorable birds my way. Next time I’ll be clearer!
In addition to the sites Dijon Warlock suggested, you might also try single pics at http://imageshack.us/ or open account at flickr.com
Here are some pics. Sorry about the quality, but I’ve only had my camera a short while. Hope the Photobucket link works, too, I’ve never done that before, either. Here goes:
Here’s my view!!!
OOOOOO! So cool!
I finally saw the pink/fucshia finch guy. The feeder is getting a lot more action as the migrators are returning.
I have only this humble offering, which kindly Dopers identified as starlings and grackles.
Yep, Kansas is the Sunflower State. And those buntings are BEAUTIFUL!
I’ve only seen a rose-breasted grosbeak once but unfortunately it was dead
I’ve seen wood ducks millions of times around here though, and I think they’re one of the most beautiful birds around.
Wood ducks were my favorite bird as a child. They truly are spectacular birds; and I’ve only seen them in the wild once.
We call them summer ducks and there are dozens of them in the swamp. I’ve been meaning to put up some summer duck boxes to get some nesting close to home.
I’ve always wanted to see a wood duck, ever since I first a picture of them in my first bird book.
I was next door at TikkiDad’s place the other day when a Nashville warbler stopped by to feast on the aphids on TikkiDad’s rose bush. According to the map on the linked page, it’s a quite a bit out of its normal range, so we’re very fortunate to have had it visit us.
