I heard Jeff Buckley sing ‘Hallelujah’ on ‘The West Wing’.
I didn’t know then who it was but it was incredibly moving.
I hunted down the album (‘Grace’) and it’s still one of my all-time favourite songs.

Huh. I love Leonard Cohen’s voice, all rough and tired and cigarettey. I’m also a big fan of Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, and Tom Waits, all of whom are pretty far from the Frank Sinatra honeyvoice type. It really surprises me that so many folks don’t like Cohen’s voice; it’s one of the two main reasons I listen to his music.
