# I have now watched half of Twilight with the benefit of Rifftrax...

Hell, Twilight was making me nostalgic for Buffy/Angel romance, and I hate, hate _hate_ Buffy/Angel. Well, hated. Now that I know how bad it could have been, I’m a new Buffy/Angel shipper.

**dangermom** , I think we both thought of _Mitchell_ because up until the moment you watch Twilight, you believe there can be nothing worse than Joe Don Baker having sweaty, beer-soaked sex with Linda Evans.

Well, you have a point there.

We watched the second half last night. Oh, the pain. Oh, the wires and the bad special effects. The terrible exposition, the total lack of chemistry or anything interesting. The kissing scene was downright painful.

I like the way Edward refuses to fuck her _and_ refuses to bite her, for her own good, and she’s supposed to be happy about it. Grateful, even. It’s not even her decision. She’s like his daughter, doing whatever she’s told like a good little girl. Not that I think all teenage girls should be having crazy hot sex with their much older boyfriends, but I don’t like the message of “You’re too stupid to know what you want. Let the man decide. The creepy, stalking, sparkling man.”

Unfortunately, untrue. If you have the misfortune of watching the movie and then watching again with the director’s commentary (two main characters and the director) you’ll realize that the director (Catherine Hardwicke) herself is a giant true believer in the series and a humongous twit.

It is painful to listen to her rhapsodize about Edward and Bella, moreso because the actors who portrayed them are talking with her and are clearly unimpressed with the story/movie.
