I didn’t know pumpkin pie had a season - the cans of pumpkin are always available in my grocery store. In fact, I made one a couple of months ago. Then there’s my MIL’s buttermilk pie - teeth-curling rich and oh-so-yummy!!! Must bake pie this weekend… ---

Hey everybody, **FairyChatMom** makes her pumpkin pies out of _canned_ pumpkin flesh. Even the rawest neophyte knows that you must roast a whole pumpkin (cored and seeded, of course), and carefully scoop the flesh out of the skin if you want to make Pumpkin Pie.
