When you run your next free annual credit report in a few months ([annualcreditreport.com](http://annualcreditreport.com) is the 3 free ones a year) make sure they show your loan paid off and the account closed. You don’t want to appear to have that as an available line of credit. ---

Congratulations! I paid mine off in full a while ago (14 years ago? Has it been that long?), and I still remember the feeling of accomplishment. That was one of my proudest moments, and I’m sure it will be one of yours, too. 🙂 ---

I have about 5 1/2 years left on my mortgage, my only debt. I have enough to pay it off, put I’ve been putting in retirement savings instead. If I cut back on my retirement savings (from 20% before tax), I could pay it off in 2 years. StG ---
