It’s a beautiful dresser, really. High art deco style with inlaid veneers. The problem is that the the handles for the top “lingerie” drawer have a single screw and the “nipple” originally meant to hold the handle in place has spun around in a circle for a good fifty years and worn a track into the drawer front. Every six weeks the screw unscrews and when I pull the pull the handle comes off. This invariably happens when I’m late, so I’ve given up and stuck a pair of insulin syringes (sans needles) into the holes.

So I have two questions.

1. What unorthodox methods do you have for managing around-the-house stuff? Do you have a needlenose pliers on top of the dryer for pulling out the broken lint filter? A piece of tape over the on/off button on the television to ensure it stays on?

2. How do I fix the fucking drawer pulls?

My needlenose pliers are on top of the dresser because the handles come off.

I have a safety pin keeping my back screen door “locked”.

I used to keep a rubber band around my speaker because of the blinding blue light. The rubber band look annoyed me and now I just never turn the speakers on anymore.

I have a pink hair band wrapped around my speakers to hold the button in the On position, otherwise it falls off. My PS2 is Blu-tacked to the side of my TV, because I was not going to fork out for a stand. I can’t really think of many others… nope; that’s my lot.

About a month ago I took a hammer to the burglar-proof catch on the window, it just got too frigging hot.

New burglar-proof device? Shut the window. 😃
