**Padilla** - I’m sure this is a mistrandscibed lyric. It’s my last name and I have never heard of it as a place name. I guess I never noticed in the song as it’s correctly pronounced pa-di-lla (pa-dee-ya) as it’s spanish. Pa-dill-ah seems to fit the meter of the song but I wonder if a single word was trandscribed as “and padilla.” Across the deserts bare - Where the hell do you think I live? I’ve breathed the mountain air, man (Catskills, Berkshires, Adirondacks, Blue Ridge, and more). I’ve also been to Buffalo, Toronto, Tampa, Boston, Louisiana, Washington, Kingston, Tennessee, Louisville, Nashville, Knoxville, Pittsfield, Springfield, Shreveport, Pittsburgh, Vicksburg, and Waterloo. 18 for 95. ---
