If this chess game were played and announced like a horse race: It’s a beautiful day here at the SDMB Threadkill Cup. The chessboard is a little muddy, but otherwise in good condition. The favorite today is HalBriston by a hair over nocturnal\_tick, both of whom have won regional tournaments in order to compete here today. They are approaching the board, and…(ring) they’re off! HalBriston moves first, it’s kings pawn to queen 5 and nocturnal\_ticks countermove is kings knight to rook 3 and-wait aminute! HalBriston is moving his queen’s knight all the way across the board and - KNIGHT TAKES KING! ITS CHECKMATE! IVE neverseenanythinglikeitinallmyyearsofannouncingandnow…wait a minute. The judges are ruling…it’s an illegal move! and nocturnal\_tick has won by default! O its a sad day in Briston land, I can tell you! What an upset! ---
