I just last night found a job through a friend of a friend. But that’s not what you are here for is it? Didn’t think so. Quick preface: My kitten’s name is Mao. SQUEEEEEEkittySQUEEEEEEEEE!!! That giant fluffy tail just screams Maine Coon, so I’m guessing he’s not anywhere near full size yet (at least, if those ginormous ears are any indication of future size). 🙂 ---

Thanks! Yeah, I’m pretty sure he does have some Maine Coon in him. His tale gets REALLY poofy when another animal comes around. It’s so awesome. I hope he gets to be super huge. ---

Oh, he’s definitely got Maine Coon in there, no doubt about it–it’s the tail. MCs have to have a tail that’s at least as long as their bodies and he definitely has that! For instance, here’s [Pratchett](http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h16/smartaleq/f28003c9.jpg), who’s half MC. It’s [the tail](http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h16/smartaleq/c68f23a6.jpg) that tells the tale! Is he talky, with a really wide range of weird noises? If so, that removes ALL doubt! He’s a total cutie pie–WANT! 😛 ---

My kittehs obligingly lined up in front of the camera to give me more MC Tail[sup]TM[/sup] pics–here’s [Pratchett and Stiggs](http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h16/smartaleq/100_0653.jpg) (not an MC) in their usual perfect feeding alignment (why do they do that? They ALWAYS align themselves exactly in relation to each other, it’s weird!) Here’s a cranky Pratchett being teased by another cat outside the window–[THE TAIL](http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h16/smartaleq/100_0656.jpg) isn’t actually in full fluff here. Then there’s the attitude–a stray black lab came up to the door the other day, my husband opened the door to shoo him off and Pratchett rocketed out the door and CHASED that lab halfway down the street! He stopped when my husband called him, then sauntered back inside–he’s not allowed out unless he’s on his leash but he’s always pushing the limits. No fear in that cat! ---

We had a little black cat named Kelly when I was growing up. I think she was around 5-6 lbs at her biggest. She was quite affectionate with the humans, but she despised all other critters and feared none. I remember a few weeks after we moved to Kitchener, ON, I was visiting with some kids from around the corner and one was showing off his dachshund. Kelly, busily establishing her turf, spotted the doggie and started sprinting at him from a half block away. When the dog noticed this little psycho cat bearing down on him, he panicked and ran, yanking the leash out of his woner’s hands and tearing off down the street, with the kitteh right on his heels. Awesome. And then there was the time a few years later when my best friend stopped by our house to show off his new German Sheppard puppy who was only a couple months old, but already a good two feet tall at the shoulder. Kelly came over to the top of the stairs to see what all the commotion was about, saw the dog - maybe five times her size – and her eyes went as black as her fur and she started down the stairs, obviously planning to end this SOB who dared step into Her House. Before she got the chance to kill the poor, unsuspecting puppy, I grabbed her and hightailed her to my room for safe keeping. When she realized I was pre-emptively stopping the fight, she went insane, struggling and clawing, and ripped a huge gash open on my forearm. I finally let her out after the dog was gone and she spent the next hour scouring every inch of the house, looking to find the intruder and kill it dead. Ah, good times… 🙂 ---
