I always describe that sex scene as “the least sexy sex scene ever.” Ugh.
It was a steaming turd.
I couldn’t believe how bad it sucked. I was actually waiting to see that movie; it was supposed to be deep and funny and cool, and it was none of them.
Idiotic characters that I couldn’t possibly relate to; political causes that were just dumb; no plot to speak of. It reminded me of those people you meet who think they’re deep and complex, but really they’re just lost.
My wife left the room and went to bed after five minutes. I said “I know it’s not funny yet, but I’m giving it a chance.” What a fool I was. Luckily, I only put up with it for another half hour.
Pure crap. I only wish DVDs were flamable.
Hated that movie. Just hated it. Couldn’t even watch it all the way through, gave up about 10 minutes from the end. The last movie that I hated this much was π (Pi).
Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for deep and meaningful philosophical movies, I just thought that this particular one was awful.
I’m telling you, if you thought it was deep and philosophical, you missed the joke. It was not meant to be deep and philosophical. It did not approach deep and philosophical. It was a satire of our search for the deep and philosophical in easy fixes and pop culture. So I guess in a way the joke’s kinda on you.
But Pi - man, what a stupid, unwatchable piece of crap that film was.
Nah, I kinda thought it was a satire, then thought that it was being played way too straight, and had a whole “Oh God, do they actually mean this?”. It doesn’t make me like any more knowing that it actually was satire, it was still shite.
It is safe to say that I do not heart Huckabees.
Call me provincial, call me unsophisticated, call me what you wish but:
I like my poems to rhyme
I like my art to actually resemble something
and I like my movies to actually have a plot.
Put me safely on the side that says it sucked.
Neat. I watched the movie this weekend on the advice of a coworker, I login to the Dope, and here this thread is.
I loved it. It seemed very Dirk Gentley-esque to me. And it allowed me to use the phrase “duck squeezer” in a meaningful way. It was complete satire, and the better for never really taking itself seriously. I thought at least half of it sound like internet message board discussions.
