Hot damn! I just knew that beachfront property I bought in Nevada was going to be worth something someday! Can ye hurry it up? The developers are already breathin’ down my neck . . .

“Apocalypse? Isn’t that a small town in Jersey?”
Ooooooh… don’t get me started on the Braves.
Arghhh! That’s all I can say in MPSIMS.
It’s 8:08 in San Francisco, and we’re fine.
Let’s see the Braves survive a 7. earthquake at game time, huh?

If I were beaned with a fastball, fling my limp, lifeless body to first, cause, dammit, I earned it!
I’m a geophysicist - I believe everything geologists say (where’s Pantellerite?).
Really, I didn’t catch the broadcast, but it doesn’t sound like something any geologist I know (and I know, literally, hundreds) would say. 'Quake prediction isn’t that refined as yet. We can identify areas where quakes can be expected, and there is a bit of indication that very low frequency acoustic waves may be detected in short advance of our realization of movement along a fault. Southern California is in for relocation, but to what degree that will happen in our lifetimes is hardly something one can quantify on a calendar.
Are you sure the guy didn’t mean in the “21st century”?

ps – and don’t let the Hollywood and granola-types fool you, California also has more rednecks than Georgia and Alabama put together.
Gee, after 12 and not a peep. I guess they are gone. Bye CA.
Oh, I’m gonna keep using these #%@&* codes 'til I get 'em right.
Methinks we’ve detected a tremor.

“Why yes, that is my monkey, why do ye ask?”
Well, it’s 11:00 now in L.A., and there’s been not even a teeny rumble all day. But there’s still an hour to go, so don’t give up hope, CA-bashers.
Of course, the Central Valley or the Bay Area may be gone by now, for all I know. It’s a big state.

11:21 p.m. PST in Southern California, and at the moment I am more worried about being burned out than shaken out.

Okay, it’s 12:11 am. We survived! Whew.
BTW, the Braves will pay yet for 1993. ::walks away muttering about 103 wins::

“You couldn’t fool your mother on the foolingest day of your life if you had an electrified fooling machine.”
Does this mean you don’t love me, Kyla?
Let’s see. I lathered and I rinsed. But did I repeat?
Kyla, will you marry me?

You live in the SF Bay Area too?

Okay, two questions: How close are you to Morgan Hill, and Are you single?
The truth, as always, is more complicated than that.
