> No one said that. Not even close. California is a donor state, meaning it pays more to the feds that it receives back from the feds. Other states, like Mississippi are just the opposite, they take more than they contribute. Warren Buffet isn’t a state last time I checked.
>
> That said, California would survive just fine without the US, whereas the US will suffer a big dent in their revenue structure if California left.

People in California pay taxes. That is, some people. I guarantee California has a tremendous amount of net leeches. And again it’d be funny seeing Silicon Valley secede from the net leeches of non Silicon Valley. Why should they subsidize the rest of your poors?

It seems like you are claiming “California” pays income taxes? Really? Hm. That’s a surprise and not how it works.

And we’ve already one over this nonsense of secession. You think that California can survive with open borders? It would be part of Mexico in a decade. Actually, the pro-secessionists willing to fight would just be dead or in jail.

California already has border control. Try driving into the state now and you’ll pass through a checkpoint.

Sanctuary cities and state actions counter to federal law undermine that.

I am sure it makes perfect sense. Exacerbating racial, sectional, and political division would be an excellent example of divide and conquer. Which nations could that benefit?

Hmm.

Isn’t that exactly how they sold Brexit? And they’re discovering that no, you can’t leave the EU and keep all the benefits of being in it. Anyone who thinks California could leave the US and keep only the parts of being part of the Union that they like is in for just as rude a surprise as the Brexiters.

Can’t read LA Times anymore, but why wouldn’t you want to be recognized by Russia? You’re not a country until the world acknowledges you as a country. Of course Russia would love to do it, just to fuck with the US, but that doesn’t make it a bad idea. Full member of the UN, you betcha you want them to recognize you.

Yeah–great idea…if you want to alienate normal people.

First impressons count.
The very first thing your new country does is openly fuck with the US. Great way to stay friendly with your neighbors.

You wanna win friends and gain support from the people, maybe start with…friends and supporters.
How about trying to open embassies in England, Germany, or Canada first?

Or better yet, how 'bout forgetting the whole thing?

I think an ideal nation would have embassies in every country. Embassies are about communication. They work much better than Twitter, which apparently is the new Presidential press secretary.

Russia fucking with the US? WTF would they do that? They already own the political process here. This country is already proving it won’t stand up to Russia, and Trump will add to that by kissing Putin’s ass every chance he gets. By the time he’s done, we’ll all be speaking Russian and driving Ladas and Volgas. (which Trump probably be the sole importer of)

No, it doesn’t help, because your assertion is other than factual.

You asked

> [@](#):
>
> Provide a cite please that CA is transferring pollution to other areas.

And the cite provided showed that California gets a significant fraction of its energy from polluting sources in other states.

See how it works? You asked for a cite, it was given, it showed that the claim was true, and the pretense that you didn’t ask for what you were given doesn’t help.

I certainly hope Yes California isn’t basing its case for secession on this kind of thing - it would make them look even worse than they do now, if that’s possible.

Let me help you.

Transferring…
1.
move from one place to another.
“he would have to transfer money to his own account”
synonyms: move, convey, take, bring, shift, remove, carry, transport; More
2.
change to another place, route, or means of transportation during a journey.

Does it make any sense to you that pollution that was NEVER in California could get TRANSFERRED from California?

Additionally, as my post provided, CA is doing more to eliminate pollution in other areas by leading the nation in pursuing green energy. Just like California led the nation (even the WORLD) in pursuing anti-pollution legislation for automobiles. California’s Clean Cars Law Now Applies to One-Third of the North American Market. Three in four Californians believe global warming is real and will have serious effects on the state’s economy and quality of life and California again, pursues technology to combat it. California leads the nation in environmental legislation, that’s pretty obvious.

Take your bullshit “transferring pollution” claim and put it where it belongs.

My Ass
