I joined CostCo.

Me? Cook? You must be joking! Come on, you’ve eaten my cooking. ANd lived to tell the tale, even.

Costco is great. I got a membership last year, and it’s more than paid for itself. I got a very good microwave there for $70 Canadian, which is excellent. A friend bought a chest freezer on my card for two-thirds regular (other than Costco) price. So far both are working beautifully. I buy ham, buns, juice, cheese, eggs, milk, cat food, granola bars, and lots of other essential-for-us items there.

I really like Costco.

I’m a family man, so I can’t say whether or not Costco is worth it for a single, but I will say that if you like buying DVDs as soon as they come out, or if you like buying TV shows on DVD, Costco’s prices usually can’t be beaten.

(These days, though, most movies it’s worth waiting a few months till Target, Best Buy or Circuit City has them in the $10 or 2-for-$15 rack.)

Wow. I thought I was the last person to finally get a Costco card - (it was the being single thing. I really just don’t need that much of anything. It will go bad (or I’ll change my mind) before it’s gone.)
But it was gas. I figure I’ll pay back my card cost through gas prices. Very quickly.
Well, that, and the television.

I popped into CostCo yesterday, since I had to go to Office Despot and it was right next door.

They have a gazebo/awning thing that’s about eight feet wide and 15 or 20 feet long, with flaps that come down on all four sides. As I said in my second post, this is just what I’ll need for my car – and it’s only $170! Sweet.
