Me an’ Jack are great freinds… go back years… A word of advice: Pour about 5 shots in a glass, and drink it all down at once. It’l burn… but then you’l not be as scared. Repeat. After a few of those, you won’t be tasting it OR feeling it… ---

Water. Water is your friend. LOTS of water. You’re drinkin’ whiskey, son. If you’re gonna drink it, drink it right. Everything else pretty much just tarts up the taste, not to mention making you feel even oogier the next morning. (_Stop_ feeling your nipples and pay attention, now…) See, any alcohol is a diuretic. Translation: it sucks the water outta yer body and ya piss like a race horse. Sugary stuff just makes ya even thirstier. So you drink more. Liquid, right? Wrong, so wrong. This is a Bad Thing. You’re packin’ in some heady chemicals, so dehydration \* is your enemy\* when it comes to flushing 'em back out. It’s a fine balance. Good sippin’ whiskey is a joy but an acquired taste. Since yer just settin’ out, and taste isn’t foremost right now, switch to water as a mixer. Pour down at least 1:1 water per lightly mixed drink. When in doubt, slow down. A finely controlled buzz is a beautiful thing. You will thank me in the morning. Veb ---

Jack Daniels is okay straight in extremely limited quantities. Few and far between is the watch-phrase. Jack Daniels also makes a kick-ass barbecue sauce ingredient for ribs. Nothing better, and it rivals what you’d get at a restaurant. I also discovered that Jack Daniels in tea with a lot of sugar helps when you have a cold. It may not be medicinal, but it actually tastes pretty good, and makes you feel a little better. Slugging down too much of it raw is a mistake. Big mistake. ---

I haven’t had time to go skiing for about three years now, but when I did I would take a bottle of Jack Daniels with me. After a long day on the slopes I would be tired, sore and cold. I’d take a shot of JD and I would feel the warmth fowing through every nerve in my body. Then I’d take another shot and the soreness would go away. Purely medicinal. Note: Drinking alcohol to _keep_ warm is a bad idea. It will have the opposite effect and you can die of exposure. But one drink to take the chill off when you have a heater standing by is good. ---

Well, it’s a new day. The sun is shining, the birds are singing (presumably, I mean that’s what birds do, right?) and I don’t have a headache, nor am I nauseous or vomiting. And I’m in a slightly better mood than I was last night. New days will do that, I guess. Probably would’ve happened with or without the Jack. And I didn’t do anything I need to apologize for… that I’m aware of 😃 ---
