Well, the specific lesson: always look at the soldering iron when reaching for the soldering iron. Did you know that grasping the 700-degree barrel of a pen-type soldering iron feels just like grasping the handle, until the brief moment that the pain registers? (Brief because the nerves die so fast.) They’re interesting scars, anyway. ---

A few years ago I was getting out of my car and carrying a couple sacks of apples. Somehow, I slammed the door shut on my right index fingertip. By shut I mean I had to open the fully closed door with my left hand to get my finger out. Six months later, the nail which eventually fell off grew back. The fingertip still feels a bit numb. ---

I managed to drop a 7’6" Western snowplow on my head last summer Hey, It was the first time I put it on. New system. What hit me was the steel light bar on top. So, I carried the plow to the truck with the tractor. Got it all lined up. Then pulled the lever that retracts a foot on the plow that is used for storage. I thought…no I didn’t think. Wammo. But it wasn’t a Frisbee. The plow weighs nearly 500lbs. 2" cut down the center of my scalp. Lucky I didn’t pass out, or worse. I was really stunned. Bled like hell. But the bleeding stopped. I had my wife take a picture of it since I couldn’t see it. If I ever go bald, I’ll have some ‘splaining’ to do. But I guess it will go with the 130 stich scar in my forehead and temple from when I was 11yo. (I actually look, and am quite normal)[as far as I can tell. Hahahaaaaahaha.] ---
