So, good news, you don’t have to worry! Let alone start a thread about it… have you never dropped a phone before? I’ve dropped mine a couple dozen times. No harm no foul so far. They really seem to make iPhones sturdy… sturdy enough that I haven’t learned my lesson yet. I did put some grip tape (from a skateboard) on the back, wrapping around the sides where my fingers grab it.
I have only once ever dropped my phone, and it was onto a carpeted surface. I don’t understand how people use these things that they can drop them dozens of times?
Not sure I get you. Are you saying why use them if you’re going to drop them?
I mean, I use screwdrivers that I drop a couple of times a day.
But hey, congrats on only dropping your phone once!
…
ETA: Oh, maybe you meant in what manner are you using them… Well, I’m pulling mine out while on a bike path, working around the house, running…
If I missed a sentence of my audiobook and need to back up 30 seconds, I never want to wait until I’m over carpeting.
Sorry, I realize that post came across as a bit more accusatory than I meant it. I am just surprised that people seem so blase about dropping a glass-covered tiny computer worth $1000 dozens of times. I am super careful with it precisely so I don’t drop it.
I’m super careful, too, but it happens. Rarely. I’d blame it on old fingers, but my daughters drop theirs much more often. I think I have a grippier cover than they do.
Handy hint:
I listen to audiobooks non-stop, and realized that half of my phone drops were because my headphone cord had caught on something (we have french doors with doorknobs that reach out to grab them).
Bought some cheap wireless earbuds . . . bingo!
