I didn’t find it annoying at all. In the regular torpedo launchers, I always felt like my shoulders were going to be dislocated from having to contort myself to get into the tube. But then, I’m a big guy with broad shoulders.
I never felt like I was going to fall out or tip over - the position was just slightly reclined so gravity did all the work to keep me in place. The only minor concern I have is cost - apparently only about 100 of these machines exist, so I may be paying a bit more as they amortize the investment.
Regardless, if imaging the spine while weight-bearing provides useful information, it’s certainly worth it.
