# I just heard from the JET program

I’m an alternate alt short-list candidate. So if spots open up, primarily from individuals accepted into the program deciding not to do the program, I may be going to Japan to teach English.

While I’m glad not to have been out and out rejected I’m a little less than thrilled to be doing more waiting. My interview for the JET program was in mid-March, and while it hasn’t been all that long a wait the least pleasant part of these things is the wait. You can’t do anything to help your chances anymore and it keeps things up in the air.

Hey, omedetou! It’s great you at least made the short list. I’m thinking about applying in a year or two when I’ve finished paying off my credit card debts. Gotta do it soon before I hit the age cap.
