# I just learned that Mark Wahlberg assaulted an Asian person in a hate crime as a youth.

I’d like to see more studies into this as well. I feel like I’m always getting pulled into some black vs. white or black vs. non-black schism when I suspect that while there certainly is prejudice and bigotry around, I’m getting jerked around what may be the more significant issue: our poor.

Wahlberg is apparently [overwhelmed with emotion](http://www.vulture.com/2014/12/mark-wahlberg-responds-to-victims-forgiveness.html?mid=rainout_vulture_feed)over being forgiven by Trinh because he’s had such terrible guilt for all these years.

Yeah…

Which is why in almost 30 years he’s never once reached out to him or even hired a P.I. to do a follow up that would have revealed the guy’s eye was lost before the accident (an odd thing to not have brought out at the time- [“Blinded me? Oh, you mean THIS… nah, I’ve had that for years.”])
