I just learned that Mark Wahlberg assaulted an Asian person in a hate crime as a youth.

Yes.

(And by “Yes”, I mean Yes, it’s illegal. Sorry. Reading is hard.

Growing up as a Southie gang member, he’s lucky he isn’t dead.

The reason he was given such a light sentence, I am sure, was his youth (16 at the time of the crimes), the idea being that he was still young enough to turn his life around. And if you think about it, the authorities were right. He has turned his life around.

He really should do something to make amends to the people he hurt, though. That he hasn’t done so tells me something about him as a person.

Also, he is a terrible actor.

I’m pretty sure movie weapons are modified/built to fire blanks only.

He’s also the class-act that asserted a while ago that, had he been on one of the 9/11 flights, he would have beaten the hijackers to death and landed the planes safely.

Whee.

To be fair, he was supposed to be on one of those flights but missed his flight. So he at least had reason to put himself in that scenario.

Or so he claims. ETA: Actually, he claims to have changed his reservation a week before the flight.

Adopt an asian baby.

  1. He may not be considered a felon.
  1. Felons can have their civil rights restored in some cases. Do you know that he hasn’t?

What do you mean Matt Damon is a great guy? He once woke up in a hotel room in Bangkok with a dead hooker and had to call Ben Affleck for help. Or maybe it was the other way around. Maybe Ben woke up with a dead hooker in his room and called Matt:

Do you beat the hell out of people you like?

Well, obviously brutally beating up two people is worse than casual trolling… one is debateable

Anyway, back to the OP, it was many decades ago, it’s no basis for a stranger to hate him for.

There are people who want to have the hell beaten out of them by people they like…and then be killed and cannibalized.

Marky Mark probably isn’t the type to want to cook himself up like a Kielbasa with a side of hash browns, though. Hopefully.*

[The Mills Brothers]: “You always hurt the one you love. …”

I think that there are a lot of people here that need healing of their brains.

What is this stuff about 'what he needs to do"?

The courts decided it, and that is it. You have no business with it.

There are some major screws loose here. Everybody here is acting like he’s the only one on earth who ever fucked anyone over.
Each person here has done something pretty bad, but, since it was ‘racial’ then it’s unforgivable.

Screws loose.

Well, you know what they say:" Friends help you move…"

Caselaw which states that please.

I think there is a difference between legal obligation and moral obligation. I can’t t speak for anyone else here, but I’ve never blinded anyone. (Have you?) Yes, I’d say he owes that person something. If he doesn’t see that, to me it speaks of a sociopathy that is still there.

You know I assumed it was some kind of fight between gangs, but it wasn’t. Throwing rocks at black school children and yelling racial epithets? Unprovoked attacks of middle aged asian strangers? Unprovoked attack of his neighbor?!

Dude sounds mentally ill.

Umm…no. I have never ever beat someone so bad it cost them an eye. I’ve been in fights when I was younger, and never even CONSIDERED hurting someone that badly.
