I don’t know how, but I somehow managed to get through life to this point without ever having seen [**High Society**](http://www.allmovie.com/work/high-society-22401). Until now. Bing Crosby, Louis Armstrong & his band, Cole Porter, and Nelson Riddle all kill. Grace Kelly and Frank Sinatra are no slouches either. Yeah, I’m late. ---

The woman in the film is named Tracy _Lord_. Lords is indeed the name of the porn star. ---

And the original source was [**The Philadelphia Story**](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Philadelphia_Story) which I saw this spring at a local theater. High Society was the second film based on it. All great, of course. ---

[The Philadelphia Story](http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0032904/) is one of my favorite movies ever. Not only (I think) the third of three great Katherine Hepburn / Cary Grant pairings, but arguably Jimmy Stewart’s breakthrough role. I chuckled when I came to the board and saw CK. ---

My name just happens to coincide with the name used by the author of PHILADELPHIA STORY (the original, a play) which then got taken into HIGH SOCIETY. It’s a fairly common name. Many years back, I knew a lawyer named Donald E. Duck. He was pretty old even then; he was a teenager when Disney turned his name into a world-wide joke. (Can you imagine being mid-teens and suddenly every time you tell someone your name, they laugh and say, “No, really?”) [sub]OK, seiously, **Alessan** , you’re right on. When I went to choose a screen name, Jimmy Stewart’s voice calling out “C K Dexter Haaaaaaven! Oh, C K Dexter Haaaaaaaven!” just got stuck in my head and wouldn’t come loose.[/sub] ---
