I just watched "A Charlie Brown Christmas" for the first time, and it was not entertaining.

Why ACBC resonates

I was watching it with my dad and my sister this morning, and it still works. It’s the cartoon equivalent of comfort food.
My favorite part is when Snoopy is mocking Lucy behind her back while she’s lecturing everyone.

You gotta have respect for your director!

To quote Linus, as he recites from the Gospel of Luke 2:8-14 (from the Authorized King James Version):
“[sup]8[/sup] And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.
[sup]9[/sup] And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.
[sup]10[/sup] And the angel said unto them, Fear not; for, behold, I bring you tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
[sup]11[/sup] For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord.
[sup]12[/sup] And this shall be a sign unto you: Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.
[sup]13[/sup] And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,
[sup]14[/sup] Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace and goodwill towards men.”

“…That’s what Christmas is all about, Charlie Brown.”
