# I keep hearing mouse clicks without clicking--what gives?

I’m just sitting here, reading, but hear from time to time the sound as if I’ve just clicked on a link. Very annoying.
Running WXP on a FMV DESKPOWER CE9/120SLT.

With IE, you’ll hear that sound whenever a page automatically refreshes or a pop-up ad comes up, not just when you actually click a link.
You can turn it off by following these directions:
Control Panel–\>Sounds, Speech and Audio Devices–\>Sounds tab–\>scroll down to Windows Explorer–\>Click Start Navigation–\>change setting to “none” in the dropdown menu–\>OK.
