Zebra:

The proper usage is that the manner of killing is what will be filthy, not necessarily the thing being killed.

I would highly recommend a reading of “The Stars My Destination” by the late great Alfred Bester, for an understanding of the voice and colloquialisms I shamefully and inepty stole from the great one in the creation of this post.
