# I kind of lost my job!

On Tuesday I had a chat to my boss about working part time because I have not been well and working full time plus looking after a baby is taking its toll on my health.

Yesterday he told me that the company can offer me one day a week work doing the accounts.

So in 6 weeks time I will go from being a full time worker to only one day a week. I was in shock yesterday but after a good nights sleep I’m actually pretty happy with the situation.

I wasn’t happy with my job anyway. Now I will have more time to spend with my daughter and also more time to look after myself. Last year I had a c-section in May and in August had another operation to remove 15cm of my small bowel which was leaking. In both cases I returned to work full time before the recommended recovery period had ended. This has come back to bite me now and I really do need some more R&R time.

I am going to enrol in a bookkeeping course and get some formal qualifications to go with the 10 years experience I have. Already a couple of people are talking to me about doing their accounts for one day a week. That would work out to three days a week of work which is just what I want.
