😕 The one about tea? It’s a long-running British joke that we [Americans] don’t know how to make a cup of tea. What’s the big deal?

If I see Neil at Comic-Con next month, I’m going to have to hurt him! The tease! 😃

It sin’t the tea joke **cher3** is talking about. It’s Neil and PTerry talking about Crowley and Aziraphale. As in teasing us with the possibility of _Gooder Omens._ The fiends.

I thought that **cher3** was talking about Neil’s talk with Terry Pratchett, discussing character’s from Good Omens.

Generally, I loathe sequels. That said, a Good Omens sequel would be friggin’ cool.

I do remember reading once that they had discussed a sequel, if only jokingly, and were going to call it _665, The neighbor of the Beast._

An instant classic if there ever was one.

Oh, I get it. I guess a sequel would be cool, and those were definitely the two most interesting characters, but do you really think he was deliberately teasing his fans? I picture him as the type that would really sit around and discuss that sort of thing, sequel or no.

[nitpick] At least in most parts of America (especially since the 911 system attempted to make addresses more uniform back in the '80s and '90s), 665 - if existent - would be across the street from the beast. Still literally a “neighbor”, but a lot of people think “next-door” when they hear neighbor, and that would more accurately be 664 or 668 (or some other even number, depending on the lot sizes :).)

Oh, I’m sure they really did sit around and discuss it. That’s what makes it so painful.

He’s going to be very sorry he mentioned it, though.

😕 But what would you do as a sequel to the end of the world? Or the almost end of the world, rather. Have the world almost end again?

Of course the fact that I can’t think of anything hardly means Mr. Gaimen can’t 🙂 .

Throw in a reference to 9/11 and recent events, then go from there. It’s not that hard…

It would also seem likely to me that if the first book dealt with the coming of the antiChrist, the new book should logically follow the prophesized return of the Christ. Check back in with Anathema Device amd Agnes Nutter’s new book of prophecies, mmmmaybe see what happened with ADAM and the Gang in Tadfield now that they’ve grown up (I can live without this directly affecting the plot, though an allusion or indirect reference would be nice), reintroduce Crowley and Aziraphale, and brand new cast of British eccentrics. While I enjoyed the Four Horsemen, I’d like to see some new Biblical badasses: The Beast of Revelations, perhaps, or even the reincarnated Virgin Mary and Joseph, some modern day Pharisees and Zealots.

Assuming Christ survives that, the third book would chronicle the curious meeting of the younger Christ and older AntiChrist.

It’s utterly clear to me.

ADAM is the Christ reborn. It’s the ultimate God joke that the Anti-Christ is also the reborn savior.

Am I good or what?

Years ago I read about Pratchett and Gaiman idly discussing a sequel to _Good Omens_, and they specifically said that it would be called _668: The Number of the Beast_ if they ever got around to writing it.

WOOHOO!!

_Hellboy_ crossover!!!
_ahem_ Terribly sorry. My inner comic book geek has shrunk considerably in the last decade or so, but if I don’t let him out occasionally he gets very sullen and starts urinating maliciously.

Perhaps they could deal with the fact that the world was supposed to end, but didn’t, and therefore things get all screwy with the space-time continuum…and Adam has to fix it…or something.
