I have the same Corelle dishes that my mom used when my brother and I were kids, and that I got from her when I moved into my first apartment (22 years ago). Several sizes of plates, some cereal bowls, and at least one casserole dish. They’re in the “butterfly gold” pattern that anyone who grew up in the '70s (in the USA) will immediately recognize.
They do break: Corelle commercials are fake!!!!!! - YouTube
My God.
Mom used to have those.
Mine too
I put away my Corelle plates somewhere, but I have a big stack of the cereal bowls handy. They are so useful in cooking, e.g. prepping ingredients and small mixing jobs, and you can so easily load a whole bunch of them in the dishwasher without worry of chips. I have some of the blue and the green from the 70s, plus some more recent ones that have blue and green stripes around the edge. They are great dishes, I like them too.
We have those from my grandparents’ house. And they gave my parents the blue version for their wedding, which we still have a few of.
Mine, too.
I’m about to turn 45; I’ve been eating off the same plates for ~30 years!
