Sure, you’re right but wasn’t that the whole point of this thread?

I used to make lasagna and potato salad (with mayo) for thanksgiving. My two daughters loved it. They’re grown now and still talk about it.

I love BLTs without the B. I like the flavor of bacon, but the texture is so offputting.

Kind of… except it said THE key ingredient, not 3 of the 5 ingredients.

Which texture? It can vary all the way from soft to very crispy. In the sandwich I prefer the bacon quite crispy.

Do you make your LTs with toast? Fry it in bacon fat rather than toasting it, and then you get the flavor without the texture. That raises the question of who to give the bacon too- and clearly, the answer is me.

Soft to crispy, can’t stand it any way it is cooked. Fortunately, I can always find someone to take the bacon I remove from my sandwich.

I make them the regular way, put the bacon on long enough to let a little of its essence soak into the toast, then remove it and in the future, give it to Leiko!

I’ll gladly support any kind of fund raiser to send you a proper Corned Beef and Cheese Sandwich, but I’m not sure if the local deli would let me order it on anything but Rye. 🙂

Yeah, the first corned beef I ever had was from a can. Imagine my utter shock at how delicious corned beef could be when I finally got a good sandwich with good, thin slices of beef that had texture! I actually don’t mind the canned stuff but I don’t think of it as corned beef, rather just some sort of canned meat-ish product. It’s the same way I actually like instant potatoes but I don’t think of them as potatoes.

You can keep your rye bread. 😉

I’m with the no olives in Greek Salad group.

If I wanted to taste the ocean, I’d go to the beach for a swim TYVM. But I’m not heartless… I give my olives to my sweetie (or when I make it at home, buy some just for him).

Other things: No cheese on the BigMac or Egg McMuffin (once I ordered a sausage egg mcmuffin and got just sausage on a mcmuffin… I think I even prefer that!)

I don’t usually order off menu but all this talk of it has me thinking… maybe I’ll try a Cobb Salad… without the hardboiled eggs, one of these times.

Actually, I didn’t offer. 😉
But my only problem with rye bread is the stoopid wrapper they insist in putting it in. I like it when it’s fresh. Or fried, ala patty melt. There was a place in Bakersfield that used to make patty melts with bacon. Most places will if you ask nice. 😛

No, from Mahón, one of the Balearic islands. Legend has it that it was created during the British occupation, as the garlic-less variation of alliolli (whose name means literally “garlic with oil” in Catalan and which is also known in Spanish as “mahonesa con ajo”, that is, “garlic mayo”)

Not in the way you’d use for example tomato sauce, but as a dip or a bit of it on top of a dish (on some meats which can be on the dry side, on white asparagus).

Go to the salad bar at the grocery store and buy a small container of lettuce. That’s what I do when I make my veggie pizza appetizer that needs tiny amounts of six zillion fresh veggies.

I like…
Chicken Paprikash without the chicken
Stuffed peppers without the peppers
I feel really sorry for whomever said his wife wouldn’t set aside a small portion of the oatmeal cookie dough for him before she puts the raisins in. I used to make chocolate chip cookies in college, and one friend didn’t like nuts…I had no problem setting aside some of the dough to bake separately for him…and I wasn’t even in love with him! This is making my whole day sad…and I love raisins in my oatmeal cookies!

For me alliolli and mayo are two different things, and not really very similar in taste. I like both, but the (homemade) alliolli really needs to be fresh. Both are great on french fries. Especially garlic fries.
I’ve cone to like hamburgers quite a lot made with turkey instead of beef. Jennie-o turkey, that is.

Definitely pizza without cheese. Really anything without cheese. I wouldn’t mind the cheese were it not for the fact that it is a nefarious malady concocted by the Dark Lord below and presented to mankind as a moral stumbling block. And the worst part is that ya’ll took the bait!

Egg McMuffins with no egg. Fried eggs are good. Bread is good. Fried egg and bread mixed together is a texture issue.

And blueberry muffins with no blueberries because blueberries just don’t taste good.
