That basic phrase was in “The Ballad of Hank Williams” by Hank Jr. and Don Helms (which I always thought was Don WILLIAMS), recorded around 1981:

“Now, Daddy he was makin’ money hand over fist,  
And y’all was getting’ screwed but you wasn’t getting kissed”
