# I like wine but

The two words aren’t remotely etymologically related. _Pasto_ is a cognate of _pasture_, _pasta_ of _paste_

We recently received a gift from an acquaintance; a set of rubber stoppers and a vacuum pump, used to reseal a bottle of wine. The thing is, when we open a bottle of wine, we finish it. Re-gifted to a more moderate drinker.

Make some brie en croute. You can google fancy recipes but basically…

Get a tube of crescent roll dough, a brie, some jam\*, and some egg wash. Roll out dough, place on baking sheet. Center brie. Top with enough jam to coat. Wrap the dough over top, egg wash, and bake till done. Serve with crackers.

What kind of jam? That’s your call. We’ve used fig, caramelized onion, and more. If you’re super fancy, use puff pastry instead of crescent roll dough and make a fancy pattern on top. But the gooey brie is what steals the show.
