So, what else would I like? Why did I like them? They seemed intelligent, unique, and they’re not tear jerkers.

Yeah, I know about High Fidelity. It is getting another chance.

I spend most of my time these days watching Star Trek and The West Wing on DVD.

Maybe a Wes Anderson flick if you haven’t seen any yet. (Royal Tenenbaums, Life Aquatic, Rushmore, et al)

_Big Fish_ is a good one. In fact, my first impression of _Finding Neverland_ was that it reminded me of _Big Fish_.

_Dutch_ is probably the most underrated, underappreciated comedy that John Hughes ever made.

For something a little more poignant, check out _The Man Without a Face_.

There’s been both a British and an American adaptation of Fever Pitch, another book by Nick Hornby who wrote About A Boy and High Fidelity. I haven’t seen either, but the book has a very similar sort of feel to it. I’ve heard his stuff described as chick-lit/-flicks for men.

The English _Fever Pitch_ is very good but has nothing to do with the book which isn’t a novel but a series of essays about Hornby’s life and obsession with Arsenal football club.

Huh. I was sure I’d read the book, but that doesn’t sound familiar at all. Guess not.
