He may be a prick with unfunny jokes, but that would be the logical direction to go if he wanted to revive his career. Remove the ideologies from the equation and look at it objectively: the chances of him getting back into the good graces of his former audience seems remote, so he’s jumping ship to a different audience. And one that is sizable, and has a wide online presence. Whatever. I never liked him to begin with. ---

I really don’t see how calling it a comeback implies he is the victim or the underdog, that is pretty silly. ---

I feel like this set is largely in line with most of his edgier material. I’m not necessarily defending it and I feel like it is a misguided attempt at edginess but he has done misfires like this in the past but none after sexual assault allegations and thus it it is colored by it. He seems to be in need of some sort of peace and I hope he finds it. …but whatever, he has never been my cup of tea. ---

Louis CK, alas, always gave me a vibe of that there may be something else underneath the schtick of “the un-PC guy that both sides of the aisle can enjoy”. So, he has looked at the situation and figured that he’s got no chance of recovering from the one side unless he truly owns his wrongs, so guess what, he jumps clear across to the other, where they are willing to welcome him and they will not hold him to account. **NDP** , you see,\* they want to be pandered to.\* What they want to hear is someone famous agreeing with them. Actually I also don’t think that the mere word “comeback” \*necessarily \*implies per se a sympathetic view, or heck, that it means overcoming an “adversity” caused by some external power at work, as opposed to self-inflicted setbacks. That seems to me like it reflects the vision that somehow success itself \*justifies \*you, which is what we should be trying to do away with. It sounds like the position is that if the person in question _does not deserve_ a comeback, we should not _call it_ a comeback? Then what do we call it? For instance, to me it would seem value-neutral to say Anthony Weiner attempted a political comeback (he failed at it, but he attempted it) or that Roy Moore attempted several comebacks with some partial successes. ---
